I talk about an ebook I’m working on (?!) and preview four poems that may or may not be in it.  It’s maybe interesting.

went to subway after work. normally I don’t like going places where I have to make a bunch of decisions about what to put on my sandwich. also the workers might judge my sandwich. (more.)

writing from apathy →
Sometimes I find myself lacking in genuine emotion for things that should elicit emotional responses.  it’s like that episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch (I know) where the students of Westbridge High all go to Disney World, and Libby &co. are standing around looking nonchalant as fuck and Sabrina says something like, “what is it with cool people and not getting excited about anything?” ...

haven’t actually posted any Creative Work here even though you could argue blog posts (blag, bleg) are creative works and they are actually internet culture, etc. but I’m not evolved enough I guess to not see a difference sometimes

koof: The moon looks red and the sky looks black and I can remember exactly how your heart sounds at any given moment. by Keegan Crawford http://themoonlooksred.blogspot.com I will be choosing one person at random that reblogs this and sending them a free physical copy. Dad: [answers phone] Hello?
Me: Hi, Dad.
Dad: Oh ho! How's the VISIONARY?!
Me: Fine. Say, if I biked over, could I get a ride to Betsy's for the party?
Dad: Of course! The house is always open to VISIONARIES!

pseudonyms, personas, anonymity, etc. →
I’ve been thinking a little bit about the pseudonym, specifically in relation to women writers, even more specifically I guess in the alt lit community.  Everyone has already said something about Marie Calloway and their feelings on her use of a pseudonym, etc. but she’s not the only one, yeah?  And obviously guys write under assumed names too, but Frank Hinton, xTx, Gabby Gabby?  Are pseudonyms...

thetangential: Pros • Genuinely like spending time with yourself, meaning you rarely get lonely/bored. • Have power in relationships because people have to ask you to hang out rather than vice versa. • People think introverts are mysterious and maybe working on “deep thinking” when alone. • People…

during self-isolation →
I’m about 20 pages into “The Marriage Plot” and it is already hitting a bit too close to home. this will be fun. this will be fun in a similar way to how re-watching wolf’s rain would be fun. I would probably cry and throw things and regret things. actually I hated wolf’s rain and I only watched it because my friends wanted to. so I don’t know why I have this impulse. (more.)

-unsure if being flirted with or if boy is just really excited to talk to someone who gets his star wars references.  unsure why “someone getting your star wars references” is a novelty -one of my social flaws is hearing someone say something funny, and immediately repeating it, only louder.  I’ve noticed other people do this too so I feel less awkward about it.

I know this dog who pees every time a stranger says his name it’s something like Luke Duke or Casey a standard name for a suburban dog I don’t remember exactly because obviously the name isn’t said much and it’s better that I don’t know because I’d probably slip and say hi luke all the time and have to clean up pee on the regular like Sisyphus I’m having this thing with Sisyphus right...

I was sick this weekend and started thinking about iguanas again.   (I work for a dog groomer. I think I get sick when sick people have dogs and touch them and then I touch their dogs.)

thoughts on the necessity of "sexiness" for women... →
Because even though I indentify as feminist, there are certain knee-jerk reactions that I don’t know if I will ever not have.  Recently I went to an open mic and a conventionally unattractive woman (overweight, not particularly feminine) read a poem about a sexual experience and my immediate reaction was aversion (closely followed by shame for having felt that way and I AM A BAD FEMINIST.) ...

IN DEFENSE OF THE HOT MESS / A CALL FOR LADY...
findesiecle: Lately I’ve been really into weird concepts of something like failed, desperate, self-conscious deliberate performative femininity? Part of this is evidenced by the fact that I’ve been doing my hair in big curls with my kinda-crappy-blonde-dye-job and wearing a ridiculous faux-leopard coat with ripped tights and messy eyeliner, and part of it comes together more in at least 47...
